Logitech is a Swiss company dedicated to extending human potential in work and play. They design software-enabled hardware that enhances performance, productivity, comfort, and connectivity. Recently, Logitech sought to extend this mission into digital wellness with the SmartHabits app: a project designed to help users reduce screen time, increase movement, and integrate healthier routines.

Challenge

In 2023, SmartHabits was a concept facing a saturated wellness market. Targeting high-performing professionals with significant screen time, Logitech needed to build a compelling, user-centric app from scratch to stand out. The challenge was to translate wellness goals into an intuitive digital experience that users would adopt and trust.

Project goals

Design and develop the complete user interface and experience for the SmartHabits app, establishing a foundation for user engagement and market differentiation.

What We Did

Studied the target audience and created a design strategy

Our collaboration began with a deep-dive discovery phase to align on vision and user needs. We established a clear, agile workflow that has been guiding a 2+ year partnership:

  • App Wireframe: figuring out the structure of the future app, creating a layout of all the pages, titles, and navigation
  • User Flow: realizing how a user would navigate through the app, coming from one section to the next, and how to enhance this experience and make it seamless
  • Screens & Pop-Ups: creating a layout of each particular screen and the kinds of information the user would see on them
  • User Interface: making icons and working with fonts to provide efficient and enjoyable user experience
  • Alterations: while the app is at the stage of beta testing, our team continuously suggests new solutions and designs to ensure the client’s and users’ satisfaction

By conducting workshops with the Logitech team, we defined core functionalities and user personas. This allowed us to develop a comprehensive design strategy focusing on minimal friction and positive reinforcement, turning wellness goals into simple, actionable steps within the app.

Executed UX/UI design

The subscription model we work with provides clients with dedicated, on-demand access to a full team of designers and developers. For the SmartHabits project, this meant Logitech could engage a skilled, cohesive unit without the overhead of hiring in-house. This flexible, integrated model was crucial for translating a complex wellness concept into a seamless app, as it allowed for agile iteration, consistent creative direction, and collaboration with Logitech’s project managers throughout the 2+ year partnership.

 Wireframing & User Flow:

Mapped the entire app architecture and navigation paths to ensure a logical and effortless journey from onboarding to daily habit tracking.

Interface & Interaction Design

Created a clean, calming visual language with custom icons and a thoughtful typography hierarchy. We emphasized clarity and motivation, designing screens and pop-ups that provide key information at a glance.

Iterative Prototyping & Testing 

Built interactive prototypes used for testing and feedback, allowing us to refine interactions before further development of the app.

The weekly Zoom calls with the designer are super helpful. It’s a great way for us to dive into the nitty-gritty of some tasks.

Improved user experience and ensured agile app development

We’ve been working in close, iterative sprints with Logitech’s development team, ensuring design fidelity and technical feasibility.

During beta testing, we’ve been maintaining an active feedback loop, implementing design alterations and to continuously enhance satisfaction.
